Cinco de Mayo honors a distinctive and deciding victory for Mexico, who, on May 5, 1862, defeated France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.
Mexican heritage and culture is rich, storied, colorful, and imbues Cinco de Mayo with the unforgettable lesson that devotion and determination, hard work and passion can lead to victory.
And in the US, we have been celebrating alongside our Mexican-American kindred.
Of course, one of the top activities people love to do on Cinco de Mayo is imbibing – and the bar and restaurant industry reaps the benefits from customers seeking Mexican-inspired beverages, as well as scrumptious foods like tacos, burritos, etc. In early May, spring is in full force with perfect temperatures, and people are excited to be outdoors, another reason why this holiday epitomizes social fun.
Promotional products given out in the first week of May can feature Mexican flags or the colors, recipes and historical facts. There are more ways than the obvious bars/restaurants for your clients to celebrate the festivities.
